The team continued our annual Back to School Backpack Drive this year for Tynan Elementary School. Corderman & Company has had an ongoing partnership with this local, South Boston school, helping to support the staff, students, and families. Spearheaded by the firm’s Accounting Specialist, Marissa Maurice, the partnership has been defined by volunteer opportunities and providing resources to the school and students.

Other initiatives include a Women in Construction Week event where women from Corderman read to students, inspiring the next generation of young builders. We have also participated in the school’s Open House event, providing bikes and helmets for their annual raffle and engaging with parents and families. Fun Day is a field day hosted by the school in late spring and filled with obstacle courses and games; Corderman team members have volunteered at this event the past two years, helping make sure activities run smoothly and that the kids have a blast. Winter care packages, holiday gift giving, and coordinating supply drives add to our list of initiatives for Tynan Elementary School. Our commitment to the school is one of many connections and partnerships we have with organizations in our efforts to support the community that we call our home.
