Corderman & Company is proud to announce the promotion of Marissa Maurice to Senior Financial Operations Manager, recognizing her leadership, dedication, and significant contributions to the firm over the past seven years.

Marissa’s path into construction accounting began unexpectedly while working as a server at a Boston restaurant, where she discovered an aptitude and passion for accounting while assisting with the restaurant’s books. After advancing within the restaurant industry, she transitioned into construction, gaining valuable experience overseeing travel and expenses and auditing reports nationwide for Shawmut Design and Construction.

Since joining Corderman in 2019, Marissa has become an integral member of the team, continually seeking opportunities to strengthen the firm’s financial operations. She has helped streamline accounts payable and payroll processes, improve communication between finance and other departments, and support more than 60 field personnel with time entry, payroll, and other financial needs. Her organization, reliability, and attention to detail have also helped strengthen Corderman’s relationships with industry partners by ensuring invoices are processed promptly and accurately.

Marissa’s commitment to continuous improvement extends to her own professional development. Alongside her full-time responsibilities, she has pursued advanced accounting coursework at Northeastern University and earned additional industry certifications. In 2024, her dedication and impact were recognized by Engineering News-Record when she was named an ENR Regional Top Young Professional.

Beyond her role in finance, Marissa has made a meaningful impact throughout the South Boston community. She has spearheaded Corderman’s longstanding partnership with the Joseph P. Tynan Elementary School, coordinating initiatives including back-to-school supply donations, winter care packages, an annual holiday gift drive, bicycle donations, Women in Construction Week activities, and a renovation of the school’s teachers’ lounge. As a former Boston Public Schools student, Marissa brings a personal connection and genuine commitment to supporting the school’s students, families, and educators.

Marissa’s promotion reflects a career at Corderman defined by growth, leadership, and a willingness to continually take on new challenges. Congratulations, Marissa, on this well-deserved promotion! We look forward to seeing all she will accomplish in her new role.
