Raising Awareness for the Usher Syndrome Society

June 20th, is the longest day of the year in Boston.

For many, it is a celebration of sunlight and the official start of summer.

For the Usher syndrome community, it also carries a deeper meaning. Usher syndrome is a rare genetic condition that causes combined and progressive hearing and vision loss. One of the earliest signs is night blindness, which often marks the beginning of more significant challenges with mobility and independence.

As the longest day begins the gradual return to darkness, it becomes a powerful metaphor for the lived experiences of those with Usher syndrome. With no present treatment or cure for a disease most people have never heard of, raising awareness is crucial.

Corderman & Company has had the incredible honor of leading the Lobby-ing for USH campaign, an opportunity to feature the Usher Syndrome Society's Shine a Light on Usher Syndrome portrait exhibit in lobbies throughout Boston. Our latest location: our building lobby in South Boston!

Thank you to Berkeley Investments for helping us bring attention to this rare disease and honor the strength of the individuals and families affected by it.

If you would like to donate, every dollar contributes to essential research in the hope of discovering a treatment or cure for ALL types of Usher syndrome.
