JPMorgan Chase & Corderman
As Corderman & Company begins construction on its 27th branch for JPMorgan Chase, the firm reflects on a partnership defined by mutual trust, consistent collaboration, and a shared mission to strengthen the communities we serve.
JPMorgan Chase embarked on their market expansion initiative in 2018, aiming to meet financial needs for local businesses, drive economic growth, and make financial services more accessible in communities that lack access to traditional banking. In 2021, Corderman & Company completed its first buildout for the multinational banking institution in Lynnway. Since then, Corderman has successfully supported the construction of over two dozen additional branches located throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
During its 24-year tenure providing construction management services in Boston and the Greater Boston Area, Corderman has engaged in countless build-outs for prominent banking institutions. This list includes PNC Bank, Royal Bank of Canada, Beacon Bank (formerly Berkshire Bank), Citizens Bank, Century Bank, DCU, M&T, Citibank, Silicon Valley Bank, Boston Private, and Deutsche Bank. This significant history provided the experience needed to support the success of this partnership.
Adding to this experience, Corderman and Company Senior Project Manager, Dan Guimond, joined the firm in 2018 with a wealth of knowledge in bank construction. Dan has been building banks since 1994, initially supporting the construction of ground ups and in-lines in Keene, NH. As his career progressed he became a Project Executive, working on projects for Bank of America and Sovereign Bank (later purchased by Santander). His banking portfolio spans all of New England; in addition to a high concentration of projects in MA and NH, he has also completed banking construction in ME, VT, and RI.
Dan’s experience and industry connections were integral in fortifying a relationship between Corderman & Company and JPMorgan Chase. He has acted as the Senior PM on every JPMC branch build-out as well as several PNC branches. His reliability, expertise, and commitment to excellence have been intrinsic to the longevity of this partnership.
Each of the 27 branch locations has offered its own sets of challenges and requirements. From standalone buildings, end-cap spaces, and in-line storefronts in the suburbs to mixed-use retail locations in buildings in the heart of Boston, Corderman has navigated neighboring businesses and adjacent tenants, the safety of the general public, and an array of logistical considerations during the construction of every branch.
Construction work has included the following: exterior storefront build-outs and renovations; ATM installations; vestibule build-outs; sidewalk installation and repair; brand signage and light pole installation; parking lot paving, seal coating, and striping; curtain wall builds; excavation; underground electrical and plumbing; safe removal and installation; security system integration; and external material loading via lifts. The branches constructed in 2025 and those underway this year have either been awarded or are in the process of achieving LEED status, a reflection of both JPMorgan Chase and Corderman & Company’s continued goal to implement sustainable building practices.
Corderman & Company Assistant Project Manager, Thomas Perry, has worked extensively on many of the most recent locations and shared the following reflection on his experience supporting JPMC’s mission: “Branch construction requires a strong understanding of both operational functionality and community presence. Through our partnership with JPMorgan Chase, we’ve been able to bring that balance to life, delivering projects that are technically sound, efficiently executed, and welcoming to customers. It’s been rewarding to collaborate on spaces that directly support greater access to banking services.”
In addition to the technical requirements of each build-out, Corderman works closely with project partners to ensure consistency across branches, producing spaces that are infused with JPMC’s identity. Corderman & Company looks forward to completing upcoming branch locations in Pembroke, Clinton, and Southborough, continuing to support JPMorgan Chase’s mission of delivering an elevated experience, personalized service, and customer-oriented approach.
