Lobby-ing for USH Campaign Earns National Award

The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) hosts the annual Marketing Communications Awards competition. Entries encompass creative and effective marketing strategies and campaigns nationally. This past year, Corderman & Company submitted the Lobby-ing for USH campaign in the SMPS’s Pro-Bono Mixed Media category — and won!

Corderman & Company is a founding sponsor of the Usher Syndrome Society, a non-profit that raises funds and awareness for Usher syndrome — a rare disease that causes progressive, combined deafness and blindness. Two of David Corderman’s children have this disease, making this connection especially meaningful.

The campaign aims to raise awareness and visibility for Usher syndrome and showcases the USH Society’s Shine a Light on Usher Syndrome Portrait Exhibit, which has been displayed globally at conferences and events.

Lobby-ing for USH has been an ongoing effort for over a year now. It centers on Corderman’s relationships with buildings throughout the city. We have been fortunate to work with 8 different buildings so far over the past year and a half who have hosted the portrait exhibit in their lobbies. Due to the magnitude of foot traffic in lobbies in Boston, this initiative has been instrumental in increasing impressions on the general public and making this invisible disease visible.

This award would not have been possible without the support of each building team who graciously hosted us in their lobbies and helped coordinate a successful campaign. A huge thank you to the following buildings for their enthusiasm and support: One Financial Center, One Boston Place, 99 High Street, 501 Boylston Street, Rowes Wharf, One Post Office Square, 9 Channel Center Street, and 100 Federal Street. The portraits will soon be featured at 10 St. James Avenue. Stay tuned!
