The Corderman & Company team recently completed First Chapters Preschool & Daycare in Allston, just in time for the start of the new school year. This collection of infant, toddler, and preschool rooms; a reception area; discovery center; and playground will all contribute to supporting the development and education of, and sparking curiosity for, these young minds.
Custom curved millwork, floor to ceiling windows, and finishes clad in greens, blues, and wooden browns all exhibit intentional design and construction, with a nod to nature.
Corderman’s portfolio of work in the academic sector trends towards higher education, with a multitude of projects for notable institutions and organizations within the Greater Boston area including Harvard, MIT, Sattler College, Suffolk University, Pearson Education, and more. The buildout of this preschool, along with a playground, served as a first for the Corderman team, who is much more accustomed to spaces that require adult-sized furniture rather than the miniature tables and chairs that fill the First Chapters space.
Senior Project Manager Kevin Hegarty, Assistant Project Manager Lisa Borelli, Superintendent Steve Alberino, Laborer Marcus Bairead, and Corderman’s Carpentry division worked in collaboration with Babilou Family, Breakthrough Properties, STA Architecture, BLW Engineers, On Point Consulting Group, and our trusted trade partners to deliver this stunning new space.
First Chapters is located at One Milestone, a new development adjacent to Harvard Business School’s campus. Corderman was also recently awarded Fresh Food Generation, a Caribbean restaurant that will reside in the same building.
