Estimating Co-Op
JOIN OUR CORDERMAN TEAM
Corderman & Company, a leading Boston-based construction management firm and multi-year Top Places to Work award winner, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Estimating Co-Op to join our Estimating team. This is a hands-on, fully in-person opportunity designed for students who are eager to learn how construction projects are budgeted, scoped, and competitively bid.
As an Estimating Co-op, you will gain real-world exposure to pre-construction operations while supporting estimators and project teams with takeoffs, bid coordination, trade partner communication, and document organization. You will work alongside experienced professionals and build foundational knowledge of how successful projects begin.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Assist estimators in preparing quantity takeoffs, organizing pricing, and developing budget inputs
Help prepare trade scopes, bidder instructions, and distribute documents to trade partners and vendors
Support outreach and follow-up communication with trade partners during active bid periods
Aid in scheduling and attending pre-bid meetings, site visits, and walkthroughs when applicable
Track incoming proposals and assist the team with leveling, comparisons, and scope review
Communicate requests for information between trade partners and the internal project team
Maintain organized digital files and estimating logs
Conduct research using historical project data, unit pricing, and market conditions
Provide general administrative and coordination support to ensure deadlines are met
Uphold confidentiality and integrity in all communications and financial information
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn in a deadline-driven environment
Professional communication skills when interacting with internal teams and trade partners
Comfort making follow-up phone calls and asking questions
Ability to stay organized while managing multiple assignments
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Proactive, curious mindset and eagerness to participate
Positive, team-oriented attitude aligned with Corderman’s collaborative culture
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Enrolled and actively pursuing a college or university degree; recommended majors include Construction Management, Engineering or related field
At least two years of completed coursework, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Desire to build a career in construction management
Ability to read and comprehend construction documents is a plus
Must be 18 years of age to work on a construction project site
